M/Y AZTECA 72 meter private Yacht by CRN

Private Super yacht AZTECA Ex. Clarena II

Hull number 124 mega yacht Azteca features a sophisticated and state-of-the-art design with slender shapes and race external lines. At the stern of the lower deck, Azteca is equipped with an authentic ‘beach club’ of more than 100 sq m. Her stern port can be transformed into a big beach close to sea area, with an external shower and a sun deck, which can be used as solarium. At the back a large indoor space can be found, which is dedicated to the complete relaxation of Azteca’s guests.

Two suites accommodating some of the 12 guests on board of the M/Y Azteca are situated on the main deck. One of them is the Owner’s suite with a private terrace overlooking the sea. The Owner’s suite also features a cinema room, equipped with a 65 inch screen, a big wardrobe and a massage room. The same deck holds 12 lodgings for the crew.

There are also two big garages where there are Riva Shuttles measuring almost 10 metres in length with a maximum speed of 45 knots, a service tender of almost 7 metres and four jet skis.

The upper deck has a Special VIP cabin as well as the captain’s cabin at the stern. The captain’s cabin is situated adjacent to the radio room and the steerage, equipped with the most modern navigation systems.

A big panoramic lift with crystal walls and decorated marble floor links the three upper decks of the mega yacht Azteca.

A professional kitchen of about 50mq located on the main deck, and another one for pleasant moments of “tasting” on the upper deck where there is a White Carrara marble table. On the upper deck itself there is a refrigerated cellar to store cold meats and cheeses and a wine cellar.

The exteriors of the Azteca superyacht (ex Clarena 2) feature a wide unique deck, which extends over 33 metres of length and 10 metres of width. This space is entirely dedicated to outdoor life: big sofas, a bar area, a Spa Pool and many sun beds that can easily make space for the landing of a 2500kg helicopter, at the stem.

Two spaces were guests can socialize: a round dining table made of bronze on the upper deck and another one made of wengè wood with a Carrara marble top in the cockpit on the main deck.

Hi-fi systems and TV branded Bang & Olufsen.

Finally, on the sun deck, the ship owner has equipped an area as a fitness area with Techno-gym equipment, where the guests can carry out fitness sessions while enjoying the panoramic view.

Azteca Yacht is powered by two Caterpillar 3516 engines that push her at the maximum speed of 16.5 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots.

Nuvolari-Lenard, whose firm designed the yacht inside and out, has been behind a number of highly recognizable projects, from the Oceanco Alfa Nero to the edgy and colorful sport series built by Palmer Johnson. In many respects, this yacht is a significant departure from many of these well-known projects. With all highly custom projects, the owner’s vision is usually the driving force behind the concept. Central to this particular owner’s vision was the desire to maximize deck spaces for an enjoyable onboard experience in an informal, comfortable, yet elegant environment. Azteca fully displays this philosophy with large entertainment areas, both inside and outside, plush staterooms, tenders, toys, scuba gear and a sophisticated Kaleidescape entertainment equipment, which, through a user-friendly touch panel connected via Wi-Fi, provides instant access to any movie, episode, scene or song. One of the yacht’s outstanding outdoor features is the imposing beach club. This area (spanning more than 1,000 square feet) unfolds with a massive transom door that reveals an indoor/outdoor living area with bar and a salon with sofas and armchairs, all very close to the water. A pair of external stairways connects the beach club to the main deck, but guests can also access the main deck from the beach club through a portside door or walk into two tender garages. One garage holds a 31′ Riva Shuttle (a low-profile tender with a maximum speed in excess of more than 30 knots) and the other a 23′ Castoldi RIB, plus two Jet Skis (two more are on the foredeck). Hinged hull doors facilitate the launching of tenders and toys. This yacht is meant for entertaining. Both main and bridge decks feature sizable alfresco dining areas with ample shade. An imposing custom round dining table aft on the bridge deck can host up to 20 guests, and a large, fully equipped pantry (a secondary galley, really) helps the crew cater to even the largest of parties. At the upper level, a huge sun deck offers both shaded and open-air areas furnished with comfortable seats, a table, sun beds, a bar, a panoramic Jacuzzi and, of course, the most advanced sound and entertainment systems currently available. At the heart of the sun deck is a huge bar area with many comfortable stools, located under the expanded radar arch, which doubles as a hard top. Side built-in windows open up the view. This sun deck is large enough to comfortably accommodate large groups of people. At the 2010 Monaco Yacht Show, CRN presented the yacht to the press, and more than 35 people easily milled about, espresso in hand, without getting in each other’s way. The aft part of the sun deck can be left open to full sun or shaded with a large Bimini. In addition, this deck accommodates an array of cardio and strength-training equipment by Tecnogym, plus the deck’s fore section doubles as a touch-and-go helipad for a helicopter weighing up to three tons. Moving inside after a few hours in the sun, guests find a soothing and highly soundproofed interior. The décor by Nuvolari-Lenard’s Valentina Zannier, working in close consultation with the yacht’s owners, is surprisingly sober with a palette that spreads from cream to dark brown, featuring walnut, glossy rosewood and mahogany. A few oversized pieces—such as two extra-large sofas, upholstered with chocolate brown leather—and a grand piano, define a comfortable salon area, which leads into a formal dining room with an imposing oval table. Custom Italian furniture-maker Promemoria provided almost all the freestanding pieces. Amidships to port, close to the dining room, is the entrance to the main galley. It is particularly large and well equipped with nearly all stainless-steel appliances and prep surfaces, a central design feature requested by the original owner, reputedly a gourmet. There is even an area reserved for the curing of a traditional Spanish ham. A grand lobby with spiral staircase and panoramic elevator leads to forward accommodations. Two guest cabins on the starboard side precede the owner’s suite. The full-beam bedroom features a large terrace (formed by an opening door inside the bulwark). CRN premiered this appealing feature on the custom yacht Ability and uses it in its 43m series. The sprawling suite also includes twin bathrooms and dressing rooms, a massage room and media room with a 65″ TV screen. Private stairs connect the master stateroom to two lower-deck cabins with twin beds and Pullman beds (labeled as children and staff cabins). The lower deck accommodates two additional staterooms and comfortable crew cabins for up to 28 (with crew mess and dedicated crew gym on the tank deck). The captain has a cabin on the bridge deck where there is a further VIP cabin and an informal salon.

CRN’S 72-METER “CLARENA II” was first build and owned by Spanish Property developer Paco El Pocero. The new yacht was sold with a €20million loss to Mexican Billionaire Ricardo Salinas Pliego just after delivery.

The hull number 124 built by the shipyard: a completely new, custom-made project whose launching is scheduled for 2009. Following “Ability” (54m) and “GiVi” (60m) this brand new project comes together with the other projects of 54, 57 and 60 metres currently under construction at the yard.

“Clarena II”, the name given by the Owner to this jewel, is a product of the fruitful working relationship between the technical staff of CRN and the firm of Nuvolari & Lenard, the same team that designed the first ship built for the same client, “Clarena”, launched in 2003 and part of the CRN 46-metre “Magnifica” line.
The current project, developed through an attentive analysis of the Owner’s wishes, has produced a vessel with a sophisticated, innovative design. The shape of the hull, combined with a modern, streamlined superstructure – are made even more distinctive by Clarena II’s sharp bow. At the opposite end, the stern has been designed as a “beach club”. In fact, the swimming platform transforms itself into a large beach area practically flush with the sea, equipped with an external shower and beach chairs and perfect for use as a solarium by guests. The adjoining internal area is outfitted for relaxation as well, with those onboard able to enjoy the proximity of the sea from comfortable sofas..

For his own quarters, the Owner chose an apartment covering 120 m2. Positioned on the forward portion of the main deck, it is accessible from a private lobby. In addition to the cabin with its double bathroom, this area includes a separate massage room and movie projection room. The owner’s wish was for the cabin zone to be closely connected to the sea, thanks to a hatch that can be lowered 90 degrees and used as a balcony over the waves.

A total of 12 guests can be housed on the “Clarena II”, plus a crew of no fewer than 28, including chefs trained in haute cuisine and a personal physician. With its two Caterpillar 3516 engines, the vessel can reach a maximum speed of 16.5 knots and a cruising speed of 15.
