Project Thunder 135 meter Super Yacht by Lürssen Yachts
The largest launch of the year so far took place in Bremen April 3 2017, as Lürssen splashed Project Thunder.
This highly secretive yacht was first officially reported in the 2017 Global Order Book and is believed to measure 135 meters.
Designed by regular Lürssen collaborator Espen Øino
Scheduled for delivery before the end of 2018, Project Thunder will become one of the top 10 biggest Lürssens of all time, as well as one of the largest superyachts in the world to date. The yard adds that she will cruise mostly in Asian waters.
The 446.19ft custom Motor yacht ‘Thunder’ due to launch by Lurssen in Germany, she is scheduled to be delivered to her owner in 2018. The yacht’s interior has been designed by Zuretti.
CONSTRUCTION & DIMENSIONS
Thunder features a full displacement steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. She was built to Lloyds Register classification society rules.
This luxury yacht is also fitted with ‘zero speed stabilizers’ which work at anchor, increasing on-board comfort when the yacht is stationary, particularly in rough waters.

The project name of ‘Thunder’ is derived from Lei Gong, the mythical god of thunder in traditional Chinese and Taoist beliefs.
